This week, our Operation Humane team responded to a rescue involving approximately 100 dogs living inside a single home in Northwest Georgia. The conditions were severe. The home was dark and filthy, with dogs living without access to clean water or a clean place to rest.
Given the conditions and the number of animals involved, experienced responders were needed on site to safely enter the home, document the conditions, and assist with removing the dogs. Our team worked alongside partners to carefully navigate the environment and help bring the animals out of unsafe living conditions.
Of the nearly 100 dogs rescued, 35 are now in the care of the Atlanta Humane Society. The remaining dogs are being relocated to other rescue organizations and animal control agencies to receive the care and support they need.
Rescues of this scale take coordination, expertise, and organizations willing to step in when animals need help most.
For these dogs, the next chapter is just beginning. And we're committed to helping them move forward.
